Wondering what's happening and why it is so quiet around here? Well I don't have a good answer for you. Not much is happening with our adoption right now.
We had a huge garage sale fundraiser where we raised over 1500!!! That paid for our dossier to get translated and some went to our agency for the dossier fee. That fee has widdled over the last few months but unfortunately, until we pay the whole $5k, our dossier will be sitting on a desk somewhere collecting dust.
And honestly, that kills me. Knowing that because of our lack of funds our daughter will have to spend more time in an orphanage away from her family, breaks. my. heart.
We have been applying for grants like crazy and so far haven't heard back from any of them.
In other Haiti adoption news, President Martelly of Haiti just signed the new adoption laws. Great news for us because we will no longer need a presidential dispensation for having biological children, which should make the process go faster. I say faster, not fast. This will not be a fast process. We are preparing for another 2 YEARS until she comes home. That's if we can pay for it all relatively soon.
So pray for us!! Please pray that we receive some grants so we can bring Shaina home as soon as possible!
