Yesterday was our interview with the branch manger of our homestudy agency. It went great! She gave us a disc of paperwork for us to complete and I was so excited to get started that I began working on it this morning.
Then I got a phone call.
The branch manager of the agency called and said the agency decided not to work with us for our homestudy because they thought our adoption was too risky (ie working with a lawyer instead of an agency).
So now we are back at square one. This was the closest agency to us. Finding another one is going to be a challenge, plus, we will need to drive anywhere from 3-4 hours each way to get to the next closest agency for interviews and classes. This is not good news.
I am trying to tell myself that this happened for a reason. We'll see...Right now, I am very upset and worried that our adoption is going to get derailed before we even get started! I cannot imagine not having Shaiena in our lives!

So sorry to hear about this setback. Adoption is nothing if not a struggle - keep up the fight! Hopefully you find someone willing to work with you.
